  1. Hi everyone Just a quick question about the new BCSH guideline on pre-transfusion compatibility section 5.4.4. It says that weak anti-S should be used as a control following hypochloride decontamination of our analyser. We currently use weak anti-Fya. What controls do people use following decontamination? and has anyone any views on whether using weak anti-Fya is better or worse than using weak anti-S? Thanks
  2. Thanks Is this covered in any published guidelines or is this just best practice?
  3. Hi Everyone We have an AB neg patient that is platelet dependant Our blood centre cannot supply us with AB neg plts so our patient has been receiving A neg pools instead. If this patient requires a blood transfusion and there is no AB neg rcc's available, which blood group would be the 2nd choice to transfusion i.e A neg or B neg rcc's. Does the decision depend on the number and blood group of the platelets previously transfused to this patient in the last week? thanks
