  1. what if u get a weak reaction for D in the tube...but a strong one in the card.....what would be the RH typing of the patient...wil we call it a weak D? and what about if we get a weak reaction for D antigen in the card?.........Do we need to repeat with tube testing or with the card?............or we will directly give a Rh-neg blood to this patient to have a safe side? If somebody could answer, thanks in advance.
  2. the thing i am wondered aboout......since if a lab is not performing a weak D on adults the if a case comes up like while doing the ABO and D typing, it gives a weak reaction in tube for the D -antigen....so what should the protocol be for those hospitals who dont do weak D testing on adults............does they always give RH-neg blood to those who are Rh-positive?????

  8. Hi....i am Lab tech student.....not smart enough to answer but i have read into my book that positive hemolysis with negative Dat is associated with patient in sickle cell crises, thalassemia or G6PD deficiency patient or the unit is over heated or frozen or if all cells are hemolysed ......as it is possible that Dat may be negative if all incompatible cellls are destroyed; ABO antibodies rapidly activate complement leadingto lysis....and u r saying it was severe hemolysis then it might be the case of all cells hemolysed.
