Donor ABO discrepancy
If you can't get the reverse type to come up within the limitations of the reverse cells manufacturers directions, then I think you would have to discard the donation, as a valid ABO cannot be obtained. Just thinking from a regulatory standpoint...

procedure how to do AUTOABSORBTION with PEG..
Question for Dr. Pepper. Do you ZZAP treat the autologous cell prior to PEG adsorptions? Currently we only have a procedure for saline autoadsorptions, after pre-treating with ZZAP and PEG would be a big time saver! Thanks, Angela

6% albumin
Does the EGA product insert instruct you to run this control in parallel? It seems overkill as long as you have a single negative antigen typing result somewhere...and your post treatment DAT is negative

ASCP certification
Gulf Coast Bld Center in Houston, TX has a great SBB review. It's intensive and packed into a single weekend, but very affordable and definately prepares you for the exam. I applied for the SBB exam right away after leaving the review and passed no problem! It's worth the trip!

calculation
There's a great website that helps you calculate population genetics and navigate the hardy weinburg equation. I used it when i was preparing for my SBB. The address is http://nhscience.lonestar.edu/biol/hwe.html hope this helps, as I had several hardy weinburg questions on my exam in June!

Super DAT
Some physicians still call them supercoombs or super DAT's when they call ( and occasionally polygreen), but we perform them at our reference lab.

"f" or c
Anti-f is usually made by people who are positive for C, E, c, and e (R1R2). The panel cells will be f negative if they're c or e negative, so this may be confusing. But if your patient is little c negative, then you are most probably dealing with anti-c.
