Thank you very much, Malcolm. I totally agree with you that the reagent cells should be tailored to different ethnic group. still I wonder why the FDA approved Reverse grouping cells are C Neg. and E Neg.? Is anti-C,anti-E also commonly fund and may cause direct agglitination in serology practice?

I have noticed receiently that many reagent red cells for ABO reverse grouping ,like product of Alba,Meiton,Biotest(now Bio-rad),the Rh phenotype is ccdee. Hope some one can explain why the Rh subtype is ccdee? is there a FDA requirement? In east Asia,the RhD frequency is extremely low,it is very difficult to find such donor for the reagent manufacturing!
