  1. We use a monitor that records every 15 min. and download the result into our LIS. So, my hats off to Donna for her dedication!
  2. We do the same, and send out a specimen from the same patient every six month for adsorption to the ref. lab.
  3. We also use 72 hours in Vancouver, Canada. It used to be 48 hours many years ago.
  4. Depends on what the use of cryo is for. If it is for factor 8 or vwf, we go by 4 hours. For fibrinogen, we pool thawed cryo and keep in the fridge for 24 hours. Our usage is usually within four hours for post-op open heart bleed.
