  1. Grace, Actually, I am aware of Data Innovations' products. I'd like to speak to you further off-line if possible. Here is my contact information so you can get in touch with me directly: sdandekar@code-refinery.com 919-367-0003, x223 Feel free to send me your information if you would like me to contact you. Thanks, samir
  2. Grace, Thank you for your reply and information. Is it pretty common to use the Data Innovations middleware applications by instrument vendors to interface with an LIS? Does the middleware introduce another layer of validation? Also, if you prefer that I contact you via email off-line please let me know. Thanks, Samir
  3. We are developing software for a automated blood analyzer used for grouping and typing. I am trying to find out more details on what customers in a blood bank expect when interfacing with an instrument to an LIS such as a Cerner, SunQuest, etc. I really appreciate your time and comments: Do customers expect an LIS interface on day one when a new instrument is installed or is it more typical for the LIS interface to be phased in because of validation requirements? Are most hospital LIS setup to use the ASTM 1394-97 protocol? Is utilizing a shared network folder between the LIS and instrument an accepted implementation? Do patient sample tubes always have a barcode label with sample id, accession number, order information? Are sample ID's always matched up to the LIS using an accession number or are there other methods? What is the average time it takes for an instrument to be installed and validated in a blood bank before it can be "on-line"? Samir Dandekar Code Refinery www.code-refinery.com
