JOANBALONE got a reaction from John C. Staley in Daily reagent QC questionWe are performing direct observation audits routinely so we are "QC'ing the user" to determine if the staff are performing the test correctly. We perform correlation studies 2 x year in which we correlate automated vs manual methods. I have searched the regulations and can't find any requirement addressing the initial post.

JOANBALONE got a reaction from CYGI in Issuing blood and blood componentsYou could use this:
TRM.40900 Blood/Tissue Sign-Out Phase II
The procedure for signing blood/tissue out of the laboratory provides adequate protectionfor the potential recipient.
I think this is an important process and should be the same for all patient care areas. You should define what you think is adequate protection for the patient. I think requests should include 2 patient identifiers minimum. After issue, copies of requests should be retained for a short period of time in the laboratory.

JOANBALONE reacted to Liz in The Reputation buttonHi Cliff,
Not sure where I should post this. The reputation button pops up behind the member's post, and can hardly be seen. Please ask the IT wizard to help.
Thank you.

JOANBALONE reacted to Cliff in Thanks Button.Yes, I absolutely do; however, unless you know a good programmer, it won't be coming back soon. It's was one of those items I paid a small amount of money for and the programmer disappeared.
The good news is, in the future there will be a similar tool that will allow you to show your thanks.
For now I've turned on the Reputation system.
You can click on the little star icon at the bottom of the post and it will increase the posters reputation (so to speak).
