Hi, I would like to get rid if ortho reagents antisera and red cells to replace with immucor reagents.. how many samples are needed and how many aborh,dat,etc to validate this immucor reagents. Please share your procedure. Thanks

Hi, We are a trauma center and everytime we get an alpha trauma code, we issue uncrossmatch blood in a cooler, we give them 4 PRBC and 4 FFP using a form manually. We handwrite every unit and if they did not use the blood at all, they return the units and we have to rewrite them again. It is too much of work in rewriting, we can get 4 alphas in a shift and imagine hand writing it. It is a 2 page carbon copy form and the original has the back form for nurses to write the vitals. What do you do in your lab?

I'm currently the BB interim in our hospital lab, unfortunately the previous lead left without any endorsement, so I'm really starting from scratch. Days before she left, new coolers just showed up that was validated year ago, I couldn't find her documentation for validation. It is max plus cooler for prbc that has rollers. What coolant comes with it and how many refrigerated and frozen it needs? Thanks
