  1. Current workflow: The first Type and Screen ordered/resulted has an outdate of expiring on the 3rd day (after collection) at midnight. All product orders will net to this Type and Screen order. A new Type and Screen order is allowed in on the 3rd day after 12pm. Duplicate Type and Screen ordered in Epic 'net' into the same Soft order, but label does not print for a new collection. This keeps any product orders on the active T&S sample. New Epic/Soft Bank workflow: Epic displays a warning for duplicate Type and Screen. Providers/nurses may disregard warning and enter a new T&S for collection. These duplicate tests will no longer ‘net’ to the same Soft Bank order. New order# generated in Soft for every Type and Screen ordered in Epic which we don't want. Per Soft - Each of the orders contains a different specimen ID which is shown in the Aux# filed in Patient - Order > Modify. Soft does not merge orders that contain different specimen ID's. If anyone have any solution to tackle this issue, please share with us. Thanks,
  2. I need help with determining what steps can be taken to alleviate manual processes to get orders and results from the Grifols blood bank analyzers into SoftBank/Epic after an extended downtime. How does downtime retransmit instrument results work after downtime for blood bank w Epic? Do any of you have a good downtime procedure to facilitate the transmission of results from the instrument into SoftBank to eliminate the necessary manual entry process?
  3. Is there any FDA/AABB guidelines for entering volume for apheresis red cells when received in the inventory? Any guidance is greatly appreciated, thanks.
  4. Thanks DPruden for replying to my question. The correct HCPC is P9057 - Red blood cells, frozen/deglycerolized/washed, leukocytes reduced, irradiated, each unit The American Red Cross puts out a very good informational webinar every year that helps with knowing what you can and cannot charge for blood products. AABB-billing-guide for blood products nd related services is also very helpful. Thanks,
  5. Is there any p code for "Washed Irradiated Leukoreduced Red cells"? I am interested to know how others are billing for Washed Irradiated Leukoreduced Red cells, any help is appreciated, thanks.
  6. Thankyou
  7. thank you
  8. Hello SoftBank users, I need guidance to set up reconstituted RBC, want to prepare by using AS3 or AS1 red cells and thawed FFP, FP24 or RT<24hr Frozen <24hr plasma. Can someone share set up of reconstituted red cells? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
  9. Got it! I will test it out. Many many thanks!
  10. Thanks Sonia! Yes, you are right, I am looking for the reconstitued red cell product, please give me plasma codes also, need tp set up the database to combine plasma and red cells to make reconstitued red cells. Thanks for quick response.
  11. Good morning! We used to use only CPD units for babies but recently changed to only using Adsol units for babies (we no longer receive or use CPD units). Since then we recently had to customize a whole blood unit for an exchange but we were unable to complete in LIS (Soft) since it wasn't set up. II am looking for the ISBT codes for 1. final product - Customize Whole Blood 2. products used - Red Cells (Adsol) and Plasma to make whole blood. Thanks everyone!
  12. Finish can be scheduled via print scheduler so it can be done automatically.
  13. If you wash, plasma reduce, or specify the product as an open system, then the Bacterial Monitoring/Testing attribute value would need to be omitted. In Soft, our LIS system there is a field in the blood product setup to enter outdate for a open system. Every time product is divided, new label prints with product code with -A0, B0... and expiration D/T and label requires the label verification. So I am wondering if divided LVDS platelets can be labeled with the same product code with A0, B0....division and 4 hours expiration or not.
  14. At our hospital, when apheresis platelets are aliquoted in the syringe we just change the expiration to 4 hours instead of changing the product code.
  15. I think SoftBank does let you crossmatch as long as an active TS is there.
  16. I need guidance from the SoftBank users. We want to make Pooled Cryo (E3592) by pooling 5 units of single Cryo. If anyone is willing to share the Soft setup, will be a big help to me. Thanks,
  17. Hello, SoftBank Users using Grifols Erytra for performing antiglobulin crossamatch? The AHG test have both test phases, Immediate Spin and AHG? If so then if you are willing to share the AHG test set up, will be very helpful to speed up the process. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks,
  18. Sorry, replying late. I received two emails, one was about the component prep and second one with 'not intended to send" in the subject line. I just read the component prep email, it will help me to build the test but still lot of confusion which will get clear when I start building the test. Thank you for taking time to respond the post.
  19. Hello, Do you have Soft as your LIS system? I am interested to know how QC and tests are set up in SoftBank. Do you transfuse aliquots of PGD tested platelets to the neonatal patients? Any help is appreciated. Many Thanks,
  20. We are thinking of implementing PGD testing on day 5, 6 and 7. If any Soft users using PGD testing are willing to share QC and Test set up settings with us. Thanks in advance for any help.
  21. I agree with Malcolm, definitely looks like anti-H.
  22. yes, if patient gets transfused then outdate needs to be changed to 3 days. I believe there are some hosparam settings to change the outdate automatically.
