kimannez
Just gathering information...... Do you perform RBC counts on all fluids (not just CSF)? If so, what is your lower reportable range and what is the clinical significance?
SMILLER
Generally just CSFs for RBC counts. But a physician here can order a "miscellaneous body fluid cell count" that would include RBC, WBC and diff (no reference ranges, and since the counts are done on a hemacytometer, we can go down to zero.) Lisa63heme
We only do RBC counts on CSFs. That is really the only fluid where the RBC count is clinically significant. All other fluids we only result out the WBC count and the differential. Lisa
