Man diff when lymph>neut

Recommended Posts

Are you running a Hema analyzer that only gives you 3-part diffs?  If so, I guess you have to follow manufacturer's recommendations at a minimum.

With our 5 part diff analyzers, if and absolute lymph count is high, we would only review the smear for atypical lymphs.  The only time we would do a manual diff is if we think that the analyzer 5-part diff is wrong for some reason. Or sometimes for certain clinical reasons (new leukemia, pediatric patient, etc.)
