BenchTech
Does anyone use the VIDAS for DDimers? How's the ease of use? How long do tests generally take? Are your physicians happy with it? Is it easy to calibrate? What's the reliability of the QC? Any issues? We are currently using the CA1500's Thanks!
Jonna
We switched from the vidas to the CA1500s. The vidas takes at least 30 minutes if I remember correctly and you have to batch or can only use one side at a time. Once the Innovance ddimer for the CA1500s was approved to rule out DVT/PE we switched. Must faster, cheaper and easier to maintain. If you are doing other testing on the vidas, it may be better. We did only ddimers on them and it was a waste.
Nancy L.
We use the Mini-Vidas for dDimer as well as for some other assays. It is very easy to use. Run time is 20 minutes. We don't run very many of them so only being able to do a few at a time is not an issue. Providers are happy with it. Calibration is simple. QC failures are rare. The only negative for us is the expense. We run other things on our vidas as well. I would not get a vidas just to do ddimers.
