Alarm Activation

Am I the only one who HATES the quarterly alarm activation process???

Since we use a electronic temperature monitoring system (Isensix) to monitor our temps and alarms, on a quarterly basis we test the alarm activation.

This process involves the archaic process of a water bath and temperature probes.

I refuse to believe in this tech savy world, that there isn't a better system or process of doing this.

Please tell me someone has figured this out!!!!

Our units have the peltier probes already

test activated and performed by touching the screen

validate annually with slurry of ice and thermometer

I think the only way you can get around the "hated" process is if you can document that the "electronic" alarm test actually involves the heating and cooling of the probe not just electronically manipulating the temperature.

I hate these too.  Not really difficult but tedious, so I farm that out to someone else whenever possible.

Also on my hate list. I check the old-fashioned way once a year, then utilize the built in check the other 3 quarters. If repairs or adjustments have been made, I perform the checks with ice slurry. Have done it this way for years.
