Ldubs
Just curious....we have a Cancer Center remote lab that does stat CBCs and Istat chem 8s. How does everyone handle CAP proficiency testing requirements for remote labs?
R1R2
Different issues if the Cancer Center is on the same or different CLIA as the lab. Can you be more specific?
Ldubs
Same CLIA # as the main lab. Our main question is about running the CAP comprehensive hematology survey. We do it now all on our main analyzer, but not sure if we should be doing a survey on the off site instrument as well. Thanks!
R1R2
if you are testing the exact same analytes with the exact same survey no, but you can order a verification survey for the cancer center or order a survey from another company. Either way, these suggestions are optional and are not a regulatory requirement. Remember that you do comparison studies 2x/year if you are concerned about not running a survey.
