Outpatient Lab Location Dispensing stored Products

Hello,

Could someone provide me with regulatory steps that must be taken prior to our outpatient lab location to dispense cross-matched blood and allocated platelet?  They will have mini blood and platelet rotator to store the products till dispense.

You will have to have a policy/process for releasing the products. 

Document ref temps daily/alarm activation quarterly/biannually - your call.  What to do if ref fails.

If just a plt rotator, take daily room temp and document, remember storage is 20-24C.  What will you do if temp is too high and you are storing and/or transfuse product stored at incorrect temp?  (BPD if transfused).

There is more to transfusing blood than things concerning the Lab.  You (or someone) will need to check all P&Ps with the transfusion service as well,
