After 24 hours (at least in the US), the product label must be changed to Plasma if the dating is extended to 5 days after thawing and not make a claim as "Fresh Frozen Plasma.". cindym Posted July 16, 2015 Share Posted July 16, 2015 once thawed we relabel the unit as thawed plasma and it can be stored at 1-6C for up to 5 days. The "5 day" timing starts once the unit is placed in the thawing bath and the computer system assigns the expiration time (120 hours) of the thawed unit. John C. Some apheresis FFP are in an open system so 24 hours if thawed. You would need to verify with the collecting facility.
