shmader
I'm wanting to switch our occult blood testing from just the guaiac method to iFOB. However, I'm not sure which manufacturer to use for the iFOB since one claims a cutoff of 50 ng cutoff and the other claims a 200 ng cutoff. Also, for inpatients, I need to keep the guaiac testing to detect upper GI bleed but I'm not sure how frequently the docs should be testing one patient. They order OCB x3 because that's what they're taught in med school. Can anyone share what they are currently doing and documentation for convincing the docs that it's the right way of testing?
