Liz0316 Posted May 7, 2012 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Does anyone know how many patients we need to validate when we do a backload of patient data into a new LIS? We are going from Meditech to Sunquest. There are about 88,000 patients. I was told I needed to validate 500 patients. Any thoughts or rules I should be aware of? JEMarti Posted May 10, 2012 Share Posted May 10, 2012 The best solution is if you can use a checksum tool ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checksum )to confirm that the data has transferred correctly then a small sample is sufficient to validate that the records have been transferred properly. 500 should be more than sufficient if the checksum comes out correct.
