Fetal Screen

Recommended Posts

  • 4 weeks later...

If RhoGam is ordered prophylactically at 28 weeks of gestation, we do not perform a fetal screen. However, if there is any obstetric event such as a trauma or an invasive procedure which may have resulted in fetal cells entering the mother's circulation at > 20 weeks gestation, we do include the fetal screen as part of the work up. Please refer to page 549 of the AABB Technical Manual, 15th edition, for more details.
