Our ER wants a HaemoBank. Anyone with HaemoBank be willing to share their validation plan? Do you have it interfaced with your BB LIS? How does the bidirectional interface works? How are you using it? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

You have to have a BBIS that accommodates your vending machine.  It does the electronic xm so must speak to your BBIS.   Usually you have to have the BBIS from the same manufacturer (but I wouldn't swear to that).  Any that I've looked at were associated with BBIS vendors.

We have a blood vending machine (Haemobank) in the ER  for trauma and other emergency issues, and another one in L&D. For validation it was the vendor who made it possible. For the training of the ER nurses it was the vendor rep who trained the ER charge nurses and eventually they were the ones who trained their nurses.

We have a BloodTrack in our ER, we have it built only for MTP packs.  The interface is problematic with SafeTrace Tx, mostly due to the time it takes for the admissions info to cross into BloodTrack and Tx.  We have also had some challenges with training the nursing staff in the ER, but we monitor the errors and follow up with the ED educators

It was on site validation to access the kiosk thru our hospital network to the validation environment. They validated the unit selection interface from SafeTrace to the HaemoBank and scanning functionality.
