jalomahe
I have an B Pos prenatal patient who has a positive antibody screen by Capture Solid Phase. Testing shows reactions with rr cells only in both by Capture Solid Phase and IAT with PeG. I'm thinking it is likely to be anti f? Am I on the right track or is there something else I should consider?
Malcolm Needs ☆
Sounds spot on to me, but what is her Rh phenotype?

I would suggest that, at some point, she has either been transfused with blood expressing the RHCE*ce haplotype, or has been pregnant before with a foetus expressing this haplotype. The good news is that, if it proves to actually be anti-f, it has only ever been implicated in cases of mild, almost sub-clinical, HDFN. jalomahe
Thanks Malcolm. I don't know why but f has always confused me way more than it should and now that manufacturer's have taken it off the panel antigrams it becomes an enigma that I have to try to explain to techs with less experience than I ..... David Saikin
Malcolm is awesome - I found my first anti-f a few years ago and he made cogent comments similar to yours. He is a great resource. Malcolm Needs
