  2. thanx every body i asked this question coz same incident happened at our facility when a couple of donors of the same family walked in for donation but as all of them were COUCH BREAKING HEAVY they were refused by our senior he gave some reasons that as all of them have the same problem they may have some genetic disorder and secondly there cholesterol levels may be high donors were quite disappointed of the deferral and so was i really very confused
  3. hey all is there any upper limit of donors weight that is accepted for donation

  6. hi all if a unit is cross matched for a baby patient who needs to be txed only50cc of blood acc to his weight my question is if we transfer 50 cc of blood in a sterile transfer bag and issue it , is the practice right? and secondly if the child needs more transfusion within three days do we have to re xmatch the same unit with a new sample in the case that 50cc of that unit has been txed ? ? plz clarify

  10. Hi all, this is a rule of thumb that we have learnt till now that by transfusion of one unit of packed cells increases 1g/dl nomally here i have two questions i) if the donors hb is less than 12 g/dl e.g 11g/dl or less ( miss interpreted at the time of donation ) what will be rate of hb increase if one unit of packed cells of such a unit is transfused???? ii) if the patient's hb increases more than 1 % what can be said ?
