  2. Is anyone out there using the BD Fortessa at all? Sarah
  3. Are you in a Blood Bank? I cannot imagine wanting a biohazardous object outside the lab; I surely would not want it in my house or office. Perhaps bloodborne pathogen training may be in order if theft occurs. '0 Sarah http://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table=STANDARDS&p_id=10051
  4. Three questions: 1. How would you discover the K ab? 2. This is my own ignorance - How many children were there? Which of the wives lived long enough to have more than one child. ;-O Sarah
  5. What did the techs do to break plastic tubes? Sarah
  6. Hi, Does anyone out there have experience (good or bad) with the BD Fortessa Flowcytometer? Have you validated CD34 on it? Thanks in advance for your response. Sarah
  7. Who would walk away with a lab thermometer? Why not use an Infrared Thermometer that is NIST Traceable? Does the Manufacturer only recommend calbration every 3 years? If so, that sounds great! Regards, Sarah
  8. Hi, I am looking for the catalog number and vendor for the little blue, plastic, disposable hemostats that are used in most blood banks and donor centers when preparing components or splitting units. They come in a case of 1000 ea. Thank you for your response. Sarah
  9. I believe that you can charge any reasonable fee as long as it is stated in the Consent for Storage. You should also spell out that any cost for shipping cells to another storage facility will be billed. Sarah Are you at MUSC or Roper?
  10. Hi cmv045, I guess it would depend on what do you need to connect - another bag or another product? Would a sterile weld be an option? Do you need a sample? It looks like you could use a Fenwal Sepacell Adapter with a male (spike) and two female access ports with that filter. Or, if you have a laminar floow hood, you could use a Syringe to Syringe connector by BBraun with a sterile cap. It has a male and a female connector and BBraun's red syringe caps can go either way (male or female). Of course, if you are "manufacturing" per FDA, you will have to validate this process. Sarah
  11. Hi Teresa, Have you thought about Microsoft's SharePoint? Sarah
  12. CFUs are usually report per 100,000 cells plated. You can make a dilution of 20,000 cells/ml and multiple the answer by five. Many people do that to make the plates readalbe. Sarah
  13. I have used Control Company, Innocal, and Fluke. Sarah
