What do you do when you have a very weak Anti-B on the reverse type? We have seen this recently in 2 elderly patients. We are using the gel system now, but still had some cells and were able to do a tube type and get microscopic agglutination. We also had documentation that showed these patients as A in the past. But what do we do in the future when we no longer have cells? I would appreciate any help.

RN's only here. Must be 2 RN's to check the paperwork at the bedside and begin the transfusion as well.

Hepatitis B antibody (titres) for staff

Our hospital pays for the titers and vaccines. -
We are just starting to do comparison studies before beginning use of gel. Already out of about 5 patients, we have encountered a 1+ reaction in Screen Cell II with no corresponding reaction in the tube test. We have to send out antibody identifications--came back as nothing. This will be a huge problem for us if it is this common.

I got on the thread to read about infusion rates. Instead I am sitting here laughing my head off about the "Man Flu". That's the best I have heard in awhile and so true. My sympathies are all with your wife Malcolm, but thanks for the laugh!! And the infusion rate data is very helpful. I love this site.

Does it specifically say in the Technical Manual that you can use A,B for the ABO on Group O or is this just understood? I am trying to revise my policy and I can't really find that. Thanks for any help!!

I love my Immufuge also and am still using it. Glad to hear there are spring clips available as I also looked several years ago and could not find any. I am in need of an Operator's manual for the Immufuge--it pre-dated me here and I cannot locate a manual. Surveyors last year were not happy with this. If somebody has one, I would be glad to pay copying cost or whatever it would take to get a copy. Thanks for any help you can give me.
