Thanks. What anticoagulant are you using? We using heparin. However, recently heparin was detected in the end product (only qualitative). The TEG showed a heparin effect, but of course there are many reasons for a heparin effect during liver transplant surgery. Still, there should be no heparin in the endproduct left, I think. Furthermore the haematocrit was only 20%. So, I do think we have a problem here. Any toughts or advice? Thanks. Dr Georges Geldhof.

Hi! I am a Belgian Anesthesiologist working in Saudi Arabia and I just joined this forum. I am involved in the liver transplant program at the National Guard Hospital in Riyadh. Right now, I try to come up with guidelines for the use of the cellsaver. In particular : how to test the quality of the retransfused blood.
