Hello,
I would like to pick the collective brain: when testing cord bloods for an ABO group, has anyone out there heard of enhancing weak antigen reactions of the forward type by incubating at 4 degrees with an auto control???
I had a scenario of OP mom and the cord sample typed as "AP" after incubating at 4 degrees for 30 minutes. I have heard of using this technique with adults, but not newborns. I would have requested a heelstick to confirm blood type.
thanks for any input or insight
