Does acquiring more good blood banking staff count?

I would upgrade both of my blood storage refrigerators to the Helmer i-series and set them up for downloading temps so less paper trail. I would bring in a new Echo (ours is upgraded, but old). I would remodel Blood Bank (knock out a wall) to give us a little more room and a more ergonomically friendly space to work, maybe add another spot to flex to workspace for MTP events and for our students. Actually, I want a whole new Blood Bank with more room and windows! I don't want much really............

Do you think it too passive aggressive to ask if you are required to QC ALL the low and high incident antigens on the panel especially those that you have no antisera for (or the cells to QC that antisera)? You could also ask them if and how you should QC the antigen variants on each panel!

I must be getting old and slow because I really don't understand the question!!

New Transfusion Service Lab with all the current technologies available. Additional FTE.

I left Sunquest in 2020, with the latest update. They had minimal transfusion reaction documentation that we had to supplement with EHR print outs. No on board QC. They did have an inventory search and paired with SmartTerm can print inventory reports as built. As a blood bank we were going paperless, so all of the QC and maintenance documentation and such was done through excel spreadsheets.

I wish. Unfortunately the grant can't be used to supplement wages or add FTE.

We went live with Softbank in Jan 2021, switching from SafetraceTx, but prior to that we had Sunquest. When evaluating what system we wanted to switch to in 2019/2020, Sunquest still had Roll N Scroll, and their transfusion reaction, reagent QC and emergency issue functions were no better than they had been 5 years prior when we used the software. I can't speak to updates they've done since then, but it was not encouraging at that time.
