I have the Gem unit that my biomed suggested. It was a lot less in price and very tight temps even during multiple door openings. I also purchased one of their combo units for another off-site that needed a refrigerator and freezer but not enough room to have 2 seperate units. It was able to maintain temps perfectly even after the bldg lost air conditioning last summer and the room was over 110F. Good Luck in your search

Thanks for the info on this. I was looking at a couple systems and this was one of them. With the budget so tight I have to make sure that I have all my monitoring covered but didn't want to have a big IT charge. I am steering towards the Sensotech system that I had a webdemo on last month. No IT time needed after the set up and they had great pricing with maintenence included the first year while my staff and I learn what to do. Let me know if you want to talk to the rep I talked to.

I have only used the ThermoGenesis which I love since it only needs cleaned every 3 months and not monthly.

I have had a presentation from a group called SensoTech which was done through their key distributor Gem Refrigerator. The system was very user friendly as well as no need for a lot of IT cost which I really don't have the budget for. Let me know if you want the contact name and number of the rep I talked to.

I have been really happy with a 5 yr old unit from Gem. It is on temp 24/7 and never an issue. I found out about the Gem line from our pharmacy group that has units over 15 yrs old and never any problems. I would not change for anything. I just bought 2 new refrigerators and the units were brought right to my area by their people - cutomer service is impectable. I know all they make is refrigerators and freezers and they have definately mastered it. I have one more Jewet to replace then I am done with them completely - that is when I get my budget approved.

I am sure to get a GEM unit since I called them for pricing and they got it to me right away. It has been a couple days and still no qte from Helmer. I am sure that I will be happy. Thanks for the insight on your freezer.

Tony, I was in the same boat as you several months ago. I met a new rep in my area from GEM Refrigerators and felt they were really where I needed to go. After negotiating, i had a much better price then Helmer and I love the units. The company has been in business for over 80 yrs and only makes refrigerators and freezers. They delivered the units right up to my lab with no extra charge. The units are running perfect and are very quite. I had 2 Helmer units at another site and they were dogs from the get go. It is probabaly due to the company wasn't experienced in refrigeration yet and the product was so new. I love my GEM units and I think you would too!
